Dye Lots
Colors of dye lots may vary within commercial tolerances. The colors of fabrics may vary from sample. Elite cannot guarantee exact dye lots as sampled. If two or more shades are butted together or installed in the same room, it is the dealer’s responsibility to inform Elite when placing the order so that the shades will be cut from the same dye lot. Matching dye lots may cause a delay in delivery. We cannot guarantee dye lots on subsequent or different orders.
Controls
Always specify left, right, or split (center support) controls. If the control side is not specified, right side control will be supplied. If the custom chain or WandControlTM lengths are required, please specify on your order. Chain stoppers are provided for each shade and MUST be applied to the chain during installation. This is to prevent damage that may be caused by over-rolling the fabric. Failure to apply chain stoppers may void the product warranty should damage occur. P-Clip safety tensioners are provided on all chain-operated shades and MUST be properly installed to comply with Health Canada safety standards. For motorized shades, please specify the channel number(s) for each shade on your order. This is to assist the factory when programming your shades. If no channels are specified, Elite will program the shades in numerical order by line item.
Side Mount (S-300, S-325 & V80 Cassettes ONLY):
Shade will measure ordered width less. . . . . . . . . . . . ¼" Maximum width is 48"
Cloth Measurement:
The shade will measure ordered width plus. . . . . . . . . . . 1¼" The finished width of the shade will extend beyond the fabric by at least 1¼" depending on the model.
Shade Height
The aluminum extruded tube will be wrapped with 2"-3" of fabric for decorative purposes only. Use ball stopper to ensure shade travels within ordered shade height.
Fabric Telescoping
All of our roller shades are cut by specialized automatic cutting machines on square and level tables. If telescoping (shifting of the fabric during travel) does occur once the shade is installed, please check that your mounting surface is level and true.* Telescoping may also occur on shades with a height-to-width ratio greater than 3:1 (i.e. height is more than 3x the width).
Minor telescoping can be corrected by:
a) using adjustable idler end brackets
b) layering strips of masking tape on the roller tube to shift the material.
c) shimming the mounting brackets
*Please note that telescoping is not covered under the Elite product warranty.
Green By Nature
As a longstanding member of the Canada Green Building Council, Elite selects its fabrics with our consumers and the environment in mind. We believe in a responsibility to provide safe and high-quality fabrics with no harmful chemicals, odors, or compounds that could be harmful to your health. We wish to provide you with peace of mind, assuring that our fabrics and materials are safe for home and office environments.
Look for these certifications on our fabric samples.
GreenGuard Certification program helps consumers identify and trust interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used. All certified products must meet stringent emissions standards based on established chemical exposure criteria.
Öeko-Tex® is a globally recognized program that upholds rigid standards for textile manufacturing. It tests for harmful substances prohibited or regulated by law for chemicals that are known to be harmful to health and requires manufacturers to take precautions to limit the growth of bacteria, fungus, and other microorganisms within textiles.
Polyvinylchloride (PVC) plastic, commonly known as “vinyl,” has become one of the most widely-used types of plastics worldwide. Despite its popularity, few consumers realize that PVC is the single most environmentally damaging of all plastics. For this reason, the majority of our fabrics are 100% PVC-free. Look for this icon on applicable fabric cards.
AS
TM (American Society for Testing and Materials) is a globally recognized leader in the development of international standards to improve product quality, safety, and build consumer confidence. ASTM certifications have been granted to certain fabrics in our collection for being Lead-Free and Fungal Resistant.
Many of our fabrics are flame retardant and meet strict certifications by the Standards Council of Canada’s CAN/ULC S-109 flame test and the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA).
Railroading a fabric refers to the process of rotating a fabric roll 90° to achieve widths wider than the roll itself. Elite recommends avoiding railroading fabrics if possible. Our fabric collection has been updated to include wider roll widths of up to 120". This reduces the need for railroading. We also recommend linking several narrower shades together to span wider windows. Railroading is not available on certain roller fabrics and not available on any High-Lite fabrics.

When a fabric is railroaded, a shade’s width is limited by hardware constraints. Height is limited by the original roll width. Shades longer than the original roll width must be seamed (if possible) to another piece of fabric to achieve the desired height. If railroading or seaming is required for your project, please contact us for more information and be aware of the following conditions before placing your order: • The direction and pattern of the weave will be rotated 90°, which will affect the look of other shades in the same room. If other shades must be railroaded to match, you must specify this on your order. • Railroading may cause the edges of the fabric to curl. • Not all fabrics may be railroaded or seamed. • Please refer to the Warranty section of your price list for specific fabric coverage
CHAIN CONTROLS
All shades will be made with colour coordinated continuous loop plastic chains. Steel chains are available upon request. Standard loop lengths are as follows: 18", 24", 36", 48", 60", 72", 96".
BOTTOM RAILS
Orders will not be processed unless bottom rail selection is specified. See pg. 3 for bottom rail options
ELECTRIC HEATERS
Shade must be installed at least 10" above or 4" in front (open position) of any electric heater(s).
Warranty
All blinds ordered beyond Elite’s specifications and recommendations will not be covered under this product warranty. Any alterations by the customer to the hardware, fabric, motors or any other component of this product after the point of shipping will void this warranty.
